Old Time Party #3 and Farmhouse Christmas Decor

Whoo-hoo, it’s an Old Time Party
and a giveaway!
Right here and now at the farmhouse.
Get your farm gal/guy on and come join me.
The more the merrier!
Held the first Monday of every month at 6:00 am.
Party will be up and going strong through this Friday.

We are including Christmas at the party this month as I've been asked to join in
the 'Creating Christmas' blog hop with
Traci at Fishtail Cottage doing Natural Christmas decor on Dec. 11
and
Jann at Have a Daily Cup of Mrs. Olson doing Vintage Christmas decor on Dec. 13.
Make sure to mark your calendars so you won’t miss a thing.

I truly feel honored that Jann asked me to share my farm style Christmas décor.
I have many moods when it comes to Christmas. And many boxes.
I have lots of decor from my pickin’ adventures and auctions. All frugal finds.
It’s fun to open up the boxes each year and determine what I’ll be using.
I surprised myself as I added lots of red to the farmhouse this year when I usually do a lot of white.
Let me show you…

White dishes with vintage touches.

Christmas aprons in stripes and plaids.

My chalkboard creation on a vintage tray.

I love this old rooster that was saved from a shed as it was being torn down.
Just added some greens here.

Santa and his farm truck had to make an appearance.
Who says Santa drives a sleigh?

My book page trees that I topped with rustic stars.

This is the barn wood table with sewing machine legs that we whipped together last year.
I needed a narrow table to hold the desserts for the holidays with all the company we were expecting.
I pulled the materials out of the garage and asked the hubby and son-in-law if they could make a table out of it and do it quick, like in an hour or less. LOVE IT!

Every year I set up a snack station. This took an unexpected turn and brought out the child in me.
I was thinking of my sweet, little granddaughter.

Added a couple of vintage touches to my old screen.

I like the look of old mixed with new.

Cute little farming bibs.

And a little tree tucked into the corner of the kitchen.

On one end of our living room, I draped a pieced quilt top that was passed down in the family over our banister.

This décor is placed on a chicken incubator that I purchased from an Amish farm.
I’ll show more and tell all about the incubator another day.

This is just the top of our tree that I put in a milk crate.
I added boxwood, pinecones, muslin bows, and icicles.
And see that fluffy stuff? It’s cotton from Arkansas!
My friend, The Farmer’s Daughter, sent it to me after I was fascinated with her cotton fields and her family’s history. Wasn’t that sweet of her? I thought it was special enough to add to our Christmas tree.
It looks like fluffy little clouds!

I had 3 little hearts that I tied together for the tree topping. It works!

Every tree needs a cute little bird.

These little books are vintage journals and make for an interesting read.
I added a pocket watch and an old pair of glasses that belonged to hubby’s grandmother.

Old rustic ice skates with sleigh bells and a lantern.

I almost forgot about my blue Ball jars on the kitchen table. I collect jars. Can’t help myself.
And a farmhouse can never have too many wire baskets or feed sacks which I'm using one as a table runner here.

That’s enough about my décor for now!
I do have a favorite room, my dining room, that I will share later.
It needs a post of its own, but I'll give you a sneak peek!

Let’s not forget about the Sweet & Simple Giveaway!!!
