Building Character

Here bunny bunny!
Come on, bunnies! Follow me!

Don't want to play follow the leader?
Okay...how about a sing along?
That's it! You guys are the best!

Life on the farm.
Fun. Adventurous. Simple moments. Hard work.
And all so worth it all.

As a former educator of young children, it does my heart good to see my granddaughter have the opportunity to grow up on a farm.
When I was a teacher, I was the one who was marching my students outside to the perfect learning environment.
It's all there...math, science, and so much more.
That and the fact of taking in good, fresh air and participating in a stimulating environment.

It saddens me that our children today are completely involved in too much screen time. As a child, I was always outside playing with my cousins and the neighbor kids. Always barefoot. And probably always filthy. But happy.
Those were good times and I have vivid memories of them still.

We need to give our children good times in the great outdoors.
Let's build character and caring.
Let's put smiles on their faces.
Let's create good memories that last a lifetime.

Just sayin'.

Here's a Peek

Here's a peek at our latest picks!

We had about an hour to squeeze in some pickin' time over the weekend.
Did some fast moving to make it count.

Then it was party time!
We headed back to my father-in-law's to put the finishing touches on the party we were helping him host.
It was a full blown family reunion!

Have you ever laughed so much that your face hurt?
Thanks to our family member, Sis, who is the most fun and outrageous person I've ever known.
We are blessed that she was able to be there after surviving a brain tumor. And she still has not lost her ability to make us laugh.

And Shirley came. She just fought and won the battle against cancer even though they said she wouldn't make it. What a blessing.
And then there is my father-in-law who is 90 years young. We all love that man!
So glad we took the time to get together and celebrate family.
I'm still smiling.

Gonna Party?

Are ya gonna party this weekend?
We are. With family and friends.
Now there won't be any hayrides this time.
We did that last month with my son-in-law's vintage tractor.
Lots of crazy fun on their farm.

This time we are helping my 90 year old father-in-law host a cookout at his house.
He's invited enough people that it will be like a family reunion.
My father-in-law is such a hoot that we are all bound to have a great time.

So whatever you do...
And wherever you go...
And whoever you are with...

May you have a good old time this holiday!

Happy Independence Day to You & Yours!
